Bottle #095 @SBWF 2009
Pitch black color, small brown head. Aroma of wood, smoke, whisky and licorice. Licorice, roasted malts, some sweetish whisky. Kind of De Molen house flavor in it. Very full-bodied. Does not show alcohol much.

Small bottle, gift from Molenbrouwer. Deep dark brown color, almost opague. Chocolate, cream and whisky in the aroma. Malty roasty flavor with chocolate and strong whisky notes. Fairly dry. Warming alcohol. Well balanced. A taste bomb. 2010 version, nip bottle. Roast, maple syrup, oak, slight hints of smoke and peat but especially chocolate in the aroma. Coffee, ash, Tia Maria liquor, alcohol, oak and notes of peaty smoke in the flavor. Full bodied, somewhat alcoholic, powerful brew.

Tap @ de Molen. Black colored, medium brown head. Lovely aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolat, whisky, hint of brown sugar and vanilla. Roasted malty taste, slight sweet, quite bitter, hint of alcohol, whisky. Great balance. Great beer.

Bottled@SBWF2009. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is alcohol, wood, peat, roasted malts, nuttyness as well as quite bigtime liquorice and dark chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, nuts, fruits, more nuts, smoked wood and mild notes of alcohol. Beautiful.

Bottled, (#608/1560). Extremely black, creamy small beige head. Strong port-like vinous nose. Oaky and full bodied. Plenty of licorice and chocolate, whiskey comes along later. Despite all these flavours it remains silk smooth and pleasant. Salty licorice, aniseed, grains and chocolate - lots of everything, yet there is harmony. One of the best whiskey barrel aged imperial stouts there is!
