18 cl bottle from De Bierkoning. Pours pitch black with little head. Aromaβs of wood, vanilla, whisky, smoke, soysauce, sweet malt, roast and alcohol. Taste is sweet βnβ bitterish, roasted, with a hints of wood, whisky. Burning mouth (& throat-) feel, a bit too much for my liking. Roast and ash with some bitterness in the finish. Good, but could have done with a little less acolhol imho.

Bottle 18 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours almost pitch black with only the vaguest tint of red and a small light brown head. Some hard roast malt in the nose and a vague whisky touch. Solid body, hard roasted malt and raisins with quite some alcohol in the finish. 280710

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, roasted malt, soy sauce, and wood, leading to a dry roasted finish.

tiny bottle, Vielen Dank, Bierkoning! Deep black colour, no head. Impressively complex aroma. Dark malts, caramel, toffee, whisky and a bit more hops than in the Black Isak. Another delicious beer from this brewery.

Draught@Festival der Bierkulturen, Kolin nad Rynem: Literally black, small, but stable lacy tanned head; solid sherry-like to port-vinous and fruity nose with a leathery and sweet roast-malty background; soft, full bodied, solid bitter-sweet flavour; raisins in the solid sweet-bitter and coffeeish finish. Nice and pleasant.....

thanks to tpd975 thru Bosse for sharing this little gem. bottle #1529/1560. pours dark brown, thin mocha head, sticky golden lacing. aroma, small bottle but packs a nice boozy scent-punch. chocolate malts, coffee goodness, grainy and notes of whiskey. flavors, grainy, thick chocolate malts and boozy-whiskey mouthfeel, touch of caramel, dry, dark chocolate, cocoa nibs. Nicely done, not the most unique Imp. Stout out there, but the 18cl is the right bottle and again, you might want to share this one.

Had this at the Borefts Beer Festival, De Molen Brewery, Bodegraven, Netherlands 30-10-09 Pours black with a few bubbles around the edges. Lots of liquorice on the nose with some spirit and woodiness noted also. Tastes good, roasty with some whisky detected but a bit like the Mikkeller Speyside in that some of the Imperial stouts richness seems to have leeched out as a result of the cask aging.
