The overflow of boring pilsners helped in creating the Kompaan 070 Kameraad. A cold dry hopped pilsner with body. This pils is three times as bitter and hoppy as a standard pils, but still fresh and drinkable -- a real ‘craft’ pilsner. This beer is simple with some edge--a true “Kameraad” (pal)! Refreshing and citrusy, with pleasant and bitter endnotes.

Bottle. A clear one, pale golden in color and with a small, off-white head. The aroma is lighlty fruity, with some pale malts, grass and hay. Medium body, quite dry and with a decent carbonation level. The flavor is pretty grainy, with grass and hay. Some pine cones and bitterness. Short bitter finish with some grass and hay. A pretty decent one. 140117

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of grass, light spicy hops, hint of pale malts, hay. Flavour is dry, light sweet, a bit floral, hay, grassy and light spicy bitter finish. Light-bodied, almost watery, but it’s a nice take on a German Pils imo.

Bottled. Golden colour, not that much head. Aroma is grainy, malty and a bit floral. Flavour is grainy, floral and some grassy notes. The interesting thing here is, is it an ale fermented at lager temperature, or a pils fermented at ale temperature?
