The American Pale Ale is Glutenberg’s first incursion in the universe of hoppy beers. A savoury concoction with citrusy notes, this beer perfectly showcases the brewery’s versatility. Its orange and grapefruit aromas softly temper the straight-up character of American hops by endowing it with a slight touch of bitterness. The result is a delectable, balanced, resinous and full-bodied beer.

Actually a noble effort for a gluten-free beer because they manage to nail the hops flavour here. It’s just the absence of malt that throws this off. Maybe if they added even more hops to disguise it. Had a sip of this at Get Well.

Draft @ Delirium.

Usually not a fan of gluten-free beers. Glad they make them for those allergic to it, but usually too different from normal beers. Usually, I say. This brewery managed to make a great APA, that from the bottle, you would never know it is gluten-free. Now, from the glass, clean golden-amber colour, foamy head (that goes down half, quickly, and the other half takes time). Great hoppy APA nose. After breathing a bit, that is when you notice the different grains with hints of tropical fruits. Beautiful light dryness in the finish with a little bitterness. Some caramel comes out in the aftertaste to balance everything. A nice decent APA, but probably the best gluten-free beer I will ever have.

Bouteille 750ml.

A golden amber ale with a thin white head. A nice floral hops in aroma, wuite decent. In mouth, a light dryish beer with decent floral hops, a bit lacking in roundness but for a gluten free, quite nice. On tap at Bieres et Saveurs 2011, Sept 3 2011.
