Bottle. Dark orange/copper/amber. Huge foamy head with decent lacing. Aroma of floral and earthy hops, grains and sweet malts. Taste ist grains, sweet malts, some honey, a tiny bit of caramel and a hint of apricots. Aftertaste shows a moderate amount of hops. Medium carbonation. Very balanced and süffig. A really nice Maibock.

Many thanks for this beer to Erzengel. Very malty in both aroma and flavour. Golden to amber coloured. Soft bitterness and light herbal.

1000ml bottle. Clear amber colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Floral, grassy, hoppy aroma, notes of hay, weed, disguised hints of apricot and peach, malty background. Taste is malty, dry, grassy and floral hoppy overtones, almost nuttily in combination, subtle sweetness. Quite unusual, not bad.

1l-bottle from the brewery. Dark yellow colour, fresh and hoppy-floral nose. The beer starts round and hoppy. Fresh-floral, slightly sweetish with the typical fresh and worthy Maibock-aroma. Moderate bitter till the end, quite dry-grainy. Round and dry finish with hints of sweetish malt and Heller-Bock sharp sweetness. Round and nice!

Hopfiger und malziger Antrunk, angenehm fruchtig, wenig herb, rund, der Hopfen nimmt etwas ab. Süffig bleibend, zum Ende etwas brotig. 10/9/9/10//11

Poured up on tap at Thombansen’s into their 50cl glass that has a narrow bottom and a big globe like spherical upper half (allowing for some nice concentrated aromatics) where it has a clear pure copper body that supports a full firm tight creamy tan head of foam that leaves behind sheet lacing (impressive looking head if such a thing is possible). The aroma offers up prune, date and sweet cherry fruity esters as well as sweet malts, caramel malts and a bit of grainy almost bready malts. The taste starts sweet with ripe cherries, prunes and dates. The dates seem to lack any earthiness though; but add just rich fruity sweetness. It then picks up caramel and slightly roasted malts to somewhat crystal like maltiness. The malts add a slight drying sensation that works well here against the various sweeter notes. This is a solid Maibock.
