Rate 3.6, best before 08/25, from Heinrich 3000. Sharing this bottle at night with my wife after a loto at Prilly. A classic of classic, Bavarian way, really smooth and malty, sweet, aroma of toffee, light/medium body, bitter, correct.

Vielen Dank an kevnic2008! Klare dunkel orangebraune Farbe, ordentliche leicht beige Schaumkrone. Geruch nussig malzig, leichte Röstnoten, gering fruchtig. Geschmack süß malzig, nussig, Karamell, zum Ende auch etwas Getreide, ganz ok!

Bottle (Dunkel # 400): Clear, reddish-amber coloured, big stable beaten-egg-white-like beige head; sweetish caramelly and fruity nose, nutty aromas included; nearly medium bodied, soft and smooth, light to moderate sweet-bitter flavour; distinctive nutty and light fruity aromas in the light sweetish-bitter finish with a slightly lingering caramelly aftertaste. Very tasty and well balanced Dunkel.......

(bottle, purchased at the brewery) Clear, bright chestnut-brown colour with a big and dense, slightly beige foamy head. Sweet and toasty malty aroma with caramel, a tinge of milk chocolate and traces of herbal hops. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a very soft carbonation. Robust toasty malt-character with caramel and shy hoppy traces; sweet malt-accented finish with only shades of bitterness, but light notes of chocolate in the aftertaste. Archetypical Dunkel. 09.V.10

(Bottle 50 cl) Light brown, clear and pretty beer with a quickly fading head. Very malty with roasted notes and a touch of caramel. Not much bitterness. With a bit more personality it would be the perfect example of the style. 220302
