Double Rice India Pale Ale. This gold colored West Coast style Double India Pale Ale has an intense hop nose, with aromas mainly of citrus. The high hop character dominates this IPA’s flavor profile. Made with American long grain rice, it is quite difficult to make but the rice contributes to this beer’s crisp aftertaste.

On tap at Beer Temple. Slightly hazy deep golden/light amber colour, white head. Aroma of smooth fruity citrussy hops, crisp, very subtle. Flavour is light sweet, dry, citrus, floral, crisp, dry bitter grassy and citrus finish. Medium bodied, refreshing, very nice DIPA.

On tap @ Beer Temple. Amber color, hazy. Off white head, good lace. Subtle aroma’s of resin & citrus, balanced with a malty sweetness. Flavor is medium sweet with hints of fruit and acidity. Medium bodied. Finishes with caramel-malt and reasonably bitter. Very subtle (for a US DIPA) and quite tasty.

Draft. A hazy amber beer with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma has notes of fruits, alcohol, spices, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, rice, straw, spices, and peaches, leading to a dry and very bitter finish.

From tap at MikkellerBar. Pours hazy dark orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity peachy and light grapefruity. Fruity, sweet impression, peachy and slight citrusy. Smooth fruity and crisp hoppy into a medium bitter and lasting fruity finish.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a deep copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Piney hops and toasted malt in the nose. Full body with flavors of citrus and pineapple, piney hops and a sweet malt base. The finish is hoppy with a lingering bitterness left behind. Pretty good overall.

Poured up on tap at the Kuhnhenn brewpub with deep copper body and off white head. The aroma offers up rich sticky pine hops as well as a mild level of gravel like earthiness. The taste is full and rich and yummy with a bold thicket of pine hop flavor as well as resiny bitterness mixing nicely with a faint sweet base. The pine just goes on and on and is fresh bold rich and yummy. It leaves plenty of pine hops into the finish and after taste as well as a dash of sweetness that lends balance to the experience. Overall the palate comes across as thin but this is one enjoyable hoppy experience.

Draft at Blind Tiger. Clear, deep gold body with a creamy white head. Delicious aroma of orange, grapefruit, flowers and bread. Hints of tropical fruit and earthiness. The flavor is moderately bitter and moderately sweet. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Medium to full body, watery texture turning sticky in the finish, lively carbonation. Long lingering bitterness. Delicious mix of citrus and sweet orange with spicy hop notes keeping them in check.
