Double Rice India Pale Ale. This gold colored West Coast style Double India Pale Ale has an intense hop nose, with aromas mainly of citrus. The high hop character dominates this IPA’s flavor profile. Made with American long grain rice, it is quite difficult to make but the rice contributes to this beer’s crisp aftertaste.

Keg at Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell, London. A golden/orange coloured pour with a smallish white head on top. Hoppy, citrus fruit aroma. Tastes of tropical fruit, citrus fruit, hoppy, malty, slight sweetness but a very definite medicinal taste going on throughout. Quite interesting.

Drank more than my fair share from a growler at DLD, but they kept wanting me to, so it was all good. Poured a cloudy orange color with a tiny white head. Aroma was citrus fruit, with a solid caramel malt character. Alcohol is a bit present there, but the hop characteristics mask it relatively well. Very refreshing.

Growler at MaxxDaddy’s tasting. Pours clear orange with white head. Nose/taste of grapefruit, citrus, mango, caramel malt and light grassy pine. Finishes dry with grassy hops and pine. Medium body.

Draught @ The Mikkeller Bar. Pours hazy orange with a small head that slowly dissipates while not leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is fresh, sweet and malty with caramel, toffee, citrus juice, pineapple, mango, papaya and boiled rice. Taste is malty sweet and bitter with peaches, pineapple, orange and lemon peal, caramel and alcohol. Mouthfeel is smooth and medium to full bodied. Finish is bitter and slightly sweet with caramel and citrus.

On tap. Hazy amber with an off-white head. Sweet fruit and caramel in the nose - and a little dusty hops. Quite full-bodied, again lots of caramel and a little fruit. The hops almost get medicinal and somewhat burning. Quite a heavy booze kick in the finish. 040212

Draft @ Mikkeller Bar, copenhagen. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty citrus hoppy grapefruit aroma. Fruity malty grapefruity hoppy bitter flavor. Has a fruity malty hoppy bitter grapefruit finish.

On tap at the Craft. Hazy reddish beer with a small cream coloured head. Palate is lighter than expected and semi crisp. Nice hops - passion fruit just dominating some generic tropical fruits. Minerals. Semi crisp finish. Hides the alcohol very well. Very drinkable.

On tap. Pours with a hazed bronze to golden hued body with a lasting, foamy white head. Aromas are malty, grainy, orangey c-hops, alcohol and caramel. Flavors are of faded hops, tea, dry grainy, alcohol, caramel (yet finishes dry). Hoppy, orange, citrus, light spicy quality. Lively bubbles, medium-full body, warming.
