(bottle, 75cl) Cloudy, dark amber colour with a slightly beige medium-sized foamy head. Slightly dusty and toasted malty aroma with hints of caramel and subtle fruity notes. Sweet and mildly bitter flavour, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderately toasty malty base with notes of caramel, traces of cacao powder and subtle fruity notes, as well as yeasty and mildly hoppy spice in the background; sweet-bitter, mildly toasty and slightly spicy hoppy finish. 22.IV.15

750ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, brown colour with reddish and golden glimmer, average, frothy, fairly lasting and lacing, off-white head. Slightly vinous yeasty, fruity, and caramel malty aroma, hints of red berries, raisin, prune, minimally dusty, yeasty overtones. Taste is fruity hoppy, notes of yellow stone fruit, caramel malty basis with a touch of toffee and milk chocolate, hints of floral hop. Slightly heterogeneous and confused.

Sektflasche(0,75l): Ruby-amber coloured, big and dtable creamy off-white head; fruity - but no signs of infection - and caramelly nose with a subdued, but still distinctive hoppy background; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied but unfortunately not so soft; slightly lingering hoppy and fruity finish. Quite good, but it is not clear which style the brewer wanted to create here. Maybe it should be better called not "alt fränkisch", but Fränkisch Alt…
