bottle from Darts Farm. Deep brown with a creamy off-white to beige head, lovely and promising smoky nose. Malty start with dark, roasted malts, a good amount of smoke and a chocolatey-bitter finish. Smooth and velvety on the palate. Delicious!

From tap. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is smoked and breadish. Caramelish. Smoked, birch wood. Dry and slight herbal. Smoked and wooden finish.

On tap at Craft Beer Covent Garden. Clear russet colour lasting beige head. Definite smoke on aroma. Bonfire and light smoke sausage. The body is thin for a 6% beer. And the smoke verges on the tcp. OK but nowhere close to Spezial or Schlenkerla.

Tap @ Flandes. Clear amber coloured with an off white head. Nose is malty, caramel and smoke. Taste is smoke, salami, campfire wood, caramel. Low bitterness. Well drinkable.

A surprisingly light colour, a reddish copper, a head is medium and blond. Aroma is very good, smoked ham, some tar, malts in the background. Taste has malts, smoke and some smoked ham. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Smoked malts are too mild, more intensive flavours would be better. Anyway, good and easy.

500ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a deep amber. Aroma is soft meaty smoked malts. Taste follows. It’s not a big smoked taste which makes it a little more drinkable with the smoked character staying til the end. Very nice.

500 ml. bottle purchased @ Tilquin. Shared with people on the train. Dark amber,.. Smoked nose, malty, big sweet,… Taste is sweet amber, touch too light, Bamberg smoked malt, brown sugar, thicker malt, enough sweetness to work, big thin, touch Lapsang Souchong, brown sugar,… Nice beer.
