A glorious showcase of the distinct, heavily hopped beers for which Shepherd Neame is famed, India Pale Ale delivers potent bitterness, offset with generous amounts of pale ale malt to deliver a balanced, yet uncompromising brew.

At a tasting, thanks Tom, nice looking bottle, small stable creamy head, clear amber colour, malty bready aroma, some candy and a touch of herbs, flavour of bread and barnyard, coarse bland bitterness. Too convensional and boring.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Tom L. Clear red-amber. Aroma of caramel, slightly stale malt and some fruitiness. Sweetish flavor, malty, caramelly, with stale notes and a bit of bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied.

Amber color, small white head. Quite woody hoppy, a bit sticky sweet malty aroma, maybe hints of alcohol. Medium-bodied. Sweetish nutty, toffeish flavor with some bitterness. Closer to Fullers ESB than even English IPA. Not bad.

Chestnut brown in colour, malty-ale-typical aroma. The beer starts malty, very full-bodied. The mainpart is nicely hopped, flowery aroma together with malty ale character. Nicely bitter. The aftertaste is long, intense malty and nice bitter! Thanks to Seanyfo for this great beer! --> 13/12/13/13 --- Beer aliased from original tick of Classic Collection - India Pale Ale on 13 Jun 2024 at 23:19 - Score: 8. Original review text: 2013. From ASDA. Amber with a slight white head and next to no carbonation. Sweet, slightly corny aroma with some prominent alcohol and a touch of fruit. Full mouth feel, with flavours of barley sugar, apricot and slightly doughy malts, before a moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Clear medium amber, white frothy head that disappears quite fast. Mild caramel, roasty, hint citrus, dough. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, fruity notes. Medium body, creamy texture, bittesweetr but not too dry finish, a well-balanced hoppy IPA with slightly more sweetness than the other IPAs I tasted.
