Clear medium amber, white frothy head that disappears quite fast. Mild caramel, roasty, hint citrus, dough. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, fruity notes. Medium body, creamy texture, bittesweetr but not too dry finish, a well-balanced hoppy IPA with slightly more sweetness than the other IPAs I tasted.

Bottle from Tesco’s. Poured a crystal clear medium copper colour with a thin white head. The aroma is of malt and caramel. The flavour is medium bitter with a malty, liqourice, creamy caramel palate. The bitterness lingers well into the finish. A super refreshing season beer. Don’t serve too cold.

500ml Bottle: BBD Jan 2014, poured into a UK pint sleeve on 27 Aug 2013. Really took to this brew. Looked fine, orange hue to it’s amber/gold body, on top a full and lasting head. Hoppy aroma, both spicy and fruity, with a mild malt ester in the nose also. The taste is hop bitter, but not dry, the malts rearing their heads to make this a fairly sweet IPA compared to most: the hops however do rule the taste. Nice body depth and the 6.1% ABV suited the beer well: overall a very pleasant beer and a lot better than I expected (some of Shepherd Neame’s bottled brews have been poor to say the least)

Aroma a bit sweetish, probably coming from malts. A bit of hoppy citrus and some fruits are also noticeable. Beer looks light amber in a glass, small head disappears fast. Taste is bitter from the beginning, hops live and kicking. It still has a rather thin body for an IPA but I guess that this is quite typical for an IPA made in England. Bitter aftertaste lingers long in the mouth. Overall, its not bad at all - and I could even imagine this to be a session beer, something I normally would not expect from an IPA.

500 ml bottle. Clear, dark golden body with a nice off-white head. Light aroma of grassy hops and caramel malt. Flavor has a nice balance between sweet malt and bitterness, there is also some caramel with flowers and grassy hops. Medium body and aftertaste with caramel and some bitterness. Balanced, refreshing and easy drinkable IPA in traditional British old school style.
