Keg from Bishops Arms Östersund. Put as bottle as it is certainly not a cask. Something so warming about this beer, a perfect post autumn walk beer. Hug in the glass. Dark, slightly hoppy, smooth. Re-rated under same conditions. Found it distinctly average this time. Shame. 3.9 to 3.6. Re-rated again under same conditions. Score kept the same. Gorgeous mahogony colour. One of those beers that I realise why it got a good socre after a whole pint.

From old tasting notes. Amber orange color. Thick rocky beige head. Malty nose. Dryish toasted malt flavor. Hints of caramel and spice. A good brew, just a little light on the hops for an IPA.

Aroma of caramel malts, citrus, herbs and resin. Medium sweetness, turns into a dominant herbal bitterness. Meh.

Bottle with the lovely vintage design label. Clear amber ale with small off-white frothy head of low retention. Malty aroma. Caramel. Biscuit. Fruit esters. Spicy hops. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Bittersweet taste. Lots of caramel end biscuit. Decent spicy hopping. Bitter finish. OK.

500ml bottle into pint glass. This beer looks perfect, golden copper colour with fulsome white head and steady medium carbonation. Laces right down the glass. Nose is forever England, subdued toffee malt and grassy hops. Body is full, texture is oily. It’s a cleansing bitter beer with a dark smoky caramel malt finish. Gorgeous example of English ale.

Nagy, tartós hab, sötét réz szín. Karamelles, komlós, fűszeres illat. Enyhén karamelles, komlós-fűszeres íz. Közepesen testes, közepesen keserű és erősen szénsavas. Sallangoktól mentes, tisztességesen összerakott, visszafogott IPA.
