A glorious showcase of the distinct, heavily hopped beers for which Shepherd Neame is famed, India Pale Ale delivers potent bitterness, offset with generous amounts of pale ale malt to deliver a balanced, yet uncompromising brew.

Bottle, courtesy of Schplomi. Pours clear amber. Aroma is strongly malty, some nuts. Body is medium with a low carbonation. Lightly sweet, and with only a little bitterness. Palate is short and also lightly sweet. Tasty throughout.

Pours a failry clear amber color, topped with a medium sized white head, creamy and pretty lasting. Very grassy aroma with some lemony feel to it. SOme dusty maltiness in the back. Mild. Taste is a bit weird. Malty, biscuity and extra herbal. Also a bit boozy, lots of resin. Aftertaste is metallic. Poor.

Bottle. Pours clear chestnut with medium creamy white head. Aroma is malt, grain, hazelnut, fudge and hints of kerosine. Taste is medium to very sweet, light to medium bitter and faint acidic. Body is light oily with soft carbonation. Finish is medium long and mostly sweet with notes of white sugar, caramel, toffee, cream, hazelnut and hints of bitter grapefruit. More English ale than IPA.

At Jim/John is back tasting. Clear orange amber with white head. Sweet grain, bitter tea leaves, orange flavored tea, sugary. Light sweet medium bitter. Very dry, yet sweet. Bitter leaves (tea), reminiscent of the bock style, which I don’t like. Meh. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Classic Collection - India Pale Ale on 21 Nov 2017 at 20:41 - Score: 6. (Draught/keg at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 15 Jan 2015) Dark amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit, citrus and slightly earthy hops. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, dried fruit, citrus and a generous earthy/citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Solid and well made classic English style IPA. Nice one.

From a 500ml bottle on 8/1/2015. Pours a clear dark golden with a smallish head. has a light caramel aroma with a touch of basement. In the mouth, there’s caramel, toffee and orange. The hops are quite herbal and assertive with the bitterness lingering. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty good.

Bottle, 0.50l from Izola Beer Fest 2015. Pours clear orange amber color with thin creamy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma is grassy, floral, mild fruity and caramelly. Taste starts with light sweet but rich maltiness, follows grassy, herbal and fruity with dry mouth feel and bitter finish. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Decent English ale...
