Marlene – traditionelle Berliner Weisse mit historischen Hefen. Benannt nach der Ikone Marlene Dietrich. Vergoren mit Brettanomyces-Stämmen aus bis zu 50 Jahre alten Flaschen. Näher am historischen Original ist nicht möglich. Leicht sauer, fruchtig, sprudelig und wild.

22.05.2018 -- 0.33l bottle from bierlinie, bb 27.01.2019. pours a chalky yellow with a dense head. aroma of hydrogen sulphide, funk, yoghurt. flavour of lime, yoghurt, funk, mineral water, eggs. dry, fizzy carbonation. shame that the nose is quite a bit off.

On tap @ Bergen Craft Beer Fest. Pours cloudy yellow, with a small creamy head. Aroma is lactic acid, with sweet fruity notes of peaches.Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is tart fruity notes peaches and stone fruits, as lactic acid. Very mellow and drinkable.

Bottle from bierlinie. Nose is citrus, Brett, lacto, some Joghurt. Palate is raspberry, citrus, lime, orange, Brett. Hoppy joghurty finish. Very good classic light berliner weisse, especially for the start of the summer, a bit pricey though, even so close to the source.

Aus der Flasche beim Hopfen und Malz Berlin 2016-04 getrunken. Aus der Flasche sind ganz neue, richtig spannende Aromen wie Gulasch, Ketschub und Currywurst aus der frisch geöffneten Flasche zu entecken. Diese Aromen verschwinden dann recht schnell im Glas. Am Gaumen ist es recht einfach aufgebaut. Es hat kaum Säure und wirkt eher wie ein leichtes, belgisches Saison. Diese Weisse ist für den Sommer ein schöner Durstlöscher.

Bottle from SinH4 shared with Benzai @ Benzai. Very pale yellow with a small white head. Smells sour, dusty, cellar, horseblanket. Tastes sweet, overripe fruits, a bit boring tbh. Way too much carbo, thin body.

Pale milky, cloudy body, with a big, frothy, white head.
Lovely aroma of organic funk, Brett, dried fruits, spices, dough, straw.
Tastes quite similar, but lighter and less funky.
Light, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes dry, moderate funky, fruity, spicy, yeasty.
Very nice. I absolutely love the nose, loads of fresh funky, Bretty notes. The taste can't hide the low ABV though, on the other hand very easy and fresh to drink. Overall a very characterful, traditional style example that goes down like soda water.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a fast disappearing white head. The aroma has notes of lemons, wheat, and lacto. The flavor is sour with notes of yoghurt, lacto, wheat, spices, and lemons, leading to a tart finish.
