It’s taken us nearly 160 years to create the perfect lager, and we wanted to make sure it was uniquely Cornish. Crafted at our brewery in St Austell and bottled in amber glass to protect the freshness, Korev has a wonderful pale colour and a clean, crisp taste. We think you’ll agree it’s been worth the wait.

Bottle. Clear gold with a slight white head and moderate carbonation. A dryish lager with some crisp malts, a touch of grassy hop and moderately bitter finish. Ok.

Keg at the Scarborough Arms, Leeds. Now a Nicholson’s place, not sure how long that has been. This must be their standard lager, as that’s all it is, a bog-standard lager. Better than Tennent’s. Just.

Bottle drank on hols in St Ives. Amost clear gold beer, little white head. Palate is dry and minerally crisp. Light clean lagerish malt. Light hops, whisper of citrus. Mellow noble hop bitterness. Dry finish. Not bad.

Cask at the Birmingham Beer Bash 2013. Poured a clear medium straw colour with a frothy white head. The aroma is fresh yeasty malt. The flavour is medium bitter with some yeast and malt on the palate and some soft bitterness in the finish.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Whole Foods Kensington. Pours perfectly clear yellow-gold, highly effervescent, with a large, pure white, tight frothy head. Lots of pale cereal in the nose, dry dough, straw. Faint sweetness to the flavor, further cereal, pale biscuity malts, straw, slight bitterness. Light bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Pretty clean to finish, slightly more biscuit malt sugars, further dry dough, simple cereal, straw. Very mellow character overall but what’s there is pretty pleasant.

Keg at a Brown’s Restaurant in London.. A tasty, better than average lager. AMber with a white head, sweet grainy body with some citrus and a reasonable bitterness from some grassy hops.

Uninspiring Cornish brewed lager with a sweet aroma. Bland but looks good, although it would look better with a head on it.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop. Clear mid gold colour with thick white head. Drunk on train on way to Ripple so may not be perfect tasting conditions but I did have a plastic cup with me. some cream on the aroma and touch of pale malt. all good in the mouth. solid base with some noble hops around at the end to give it a kick. clean lovely pale malt with some decent hoppiness. a very lovely lager. one of the best i have had from the british isles. i really enjoyed this even if it wasnt as cold as may be perfect. good beer.
