Five-hops IPA by an Italian craft brewery situated in the Lombardy region. Longneck bottle from Geers near Ghent. Smoke comes out of the bottle upon opening and during pouring, an inches thick, foamy, irregularly shaped, rocky, tightly cobweb-lacing, off-white, coarse head is formed, crowning a lightly hazy, warm pale orange blonde beer with khaki-greenish tinge and lively sparkling sustaining the head. Very fragrant, perfumey aroma of freshly cut orange and fresh mandarin peel, cedrat lemon, ripe Cantaloupe, granadilla, peppermint, lychee, overripe peach, honey bun or 'suikerbrood', pink peppercorns, bath foam, dried wormwood leaves. Lively fruity onset, colourful and a bit more estery than usual for an American style IPA, with peach, pear, pineapple, banana and lychee aspects, touch of melon as well, all too lively carbonated - stinging and numbing a bit. Slick, bit soapy body, bready and doughy maltiness with a very thin caramelly edge, touch of cake, but quickly drenched in a long, spicy, grapefruity, rooty bitterness that lasts for a long time, drying the back of the mouth, with a strong peppery and somewhat resinous effect, bit earthy as well, with a strong yeasty breadiness underneath, as well as quite outspoken spicy phenols. This has everything to be classified as a so-called 'Belgian IPA', if you ask me: very strongly carbonated with a very strong head, very yeasty and notably estery, phenolic and malty - easily reminds me of the attempts made at IPA by Belgian brewers working with Belgian yeast strains, and there are a lot of those around these days. In that respect, certainly not bad and technically very well-executed, but if the aim was West Coast IPA, then I guess I was expecting something a bit different...

Sampled @ Brassigaume 2017. A clear deep golden beer with a mid-sized most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of grassy bitter hops, grapefruit, citrus. Taste of mild citrusy hops, pine, grapefruit, green hops, fresh, nice.

Hazy amber color, medium sized compact head. The aroma shows some green stuff, maybe vegetables. The flavor is caramel based, not exactly a modern IPA, but still good, and the hopping is quite good too, both resiny and fruity (orange peel).
Nice.
