Bottled. Brown colour with small but long lasting off-white head. Aroma is quite similar to the Klosterkrug, but has some wooden and mild earthcellary tones to it. Flavour is chocolate, sweet malts, some wood, caramel, ripe dark fruits and mild toffee and roast. If this has been in cognac barrels, it seems the wooden notes are what came off from it. No cognac tones atleast in my opinion.

750ml bottle [#1091/3562]. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby glimmer and small, frothy, rapidly diminishing, off-white to beige head. Minimally woddy, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge. Taste is dry, slightly roasty, minimally nutty and woody, dark malty, hints of malt lozenge, minimally metallic finish; light, minimally watery.

Many thanks to Beerhunter111 and Koelschtrinker for sharing. Smooth malty beginning. Easy to drink with hints of wood and nice round Cognac body. The malt is in the background, no bitterness with lots of nice malty wood. Very nice!

750ml Bottle. Shared with BeerViking. Pours with a clear dark brown color and a small off-white head. At the beginning, the nose was very restrained. I was expecting some more aroma because of the barrel aging. The nose ist sweet, malty and some hints of wood and chocolate. Taste follows the nose, some yeasty and vanilla flavors. There is no influence of the Cognac Barrel. What a pity. Dry finish.

Bottle nr. 389/804. Looks really good. Beer in the glass dark brown, small head. Nice malty aroma. Starts mild, fine soft-malty, light roasty with chocolate hints, light woody notes. Also light smokey hints, some coffee. Mild dry-hoppy background. Finish wonderful balanced, soft-malty, quite drinkable. Really a beer to enjoy!
