The St. Paul Triple is a medium to heavy triple, fermented beer with a soft, full-bodied taste in the mouth. It has a beautiful golden colour with a nice white head and a tasteful and spicy aroma of pure malt, thanks to the technique of dryhopping. The Triple is a little sweet and fruity and has an excellent real triple aftertaste.

The tripel in this series, either from a stone pitcher or from a beautifully shaped, elegant, unusual bottle. Golden blonde, clear robe, sweet character, a bit sugary, malt sweetness with subdued fruitiness, some aromatic hops in the finish but some residual sweetness as well. Unusual tripel but like the dubbel in this series, lacks body.

Bottle. Cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma of honey, flowers, citrus peels, graininess, yeast and fruitiness. Sweet honey-ish flavor with floral spiciness and fruitiness. Medium-bodied. Not my thing and not very Tripel-like.

Bottle, stable long lasting bubbly head, hazy lightish orange colour, amroma of honeycomb, yeast and dirt, flavour of candy with some fruity notes and somehoney im the back, smooth and quite light, though some alcohol intruding as the beer warms up. A bit simple but nice and easy to drink.

Bottle. Pours nearly clear pale golden with stable white head. Clear aroma of fruit and flowers, with notes of hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with sourish and sweetish floral and fruity notes. Mildly bitter aftertaste. Excessively high carbonation. Drinkable but nothing special. Way too expensive: 10 euro per bottle in a supermarket in Poland!

A bottle I picked up on sale on rakuten. It poured a hazy pale gold color with a thin head of foam which dissipated ridiculously quickly leaving behind virtually no lacing. The aroma was kind of sour and at first I thought the beer might have gone off as it is in a green bottle. It is sweet, tart and slightly sour. Interesting but not at all what I was expecting. I didn’t like it as much as other St-Paul’s I’ve had or other triples which I guess set the bar high. Mildy dissapointing but ok overall.

0.5l ceramic bottle from a local supermarket in Monfalcone. This is a blurry golden-yellow one with a really small hard to get anything out from-bubbly just off-white top. On the nose it's soft and non-extreme but I get some sweet fruitiness with sugar, sour red berries. Raspberries actually and some slightly dusty cellar hints. Nice enough really. It's right below average on the carbonation and the mouthfeel is almost, well not shockingly thin but definitely quite watery. Soft fruit-yeasty flavors. Some salty hints with some more, this time sweet raspberries and some mild grass. Not to interesting to be honest, but it's easy drinking and not bad-tasting in any way. 12.01.2012

Golden, clear colour with a magnificent big white head that poured out of the bottle right after opening it. Leaves a nice head. Aroma is malty and a bit citrus. Taste is nice with spice and citrus together with some malty and sweetness. Quite a surprise and very good Belgian Tripel.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, big white head. Smell malts, candi sugar. Taste a little sweetness, light to medium bitter, malts. Lightly sticky texture. Medium carbonation, easy drinkable but still a decent body, not weak at least.

Huge, dense and relatively stable, faintly yellowish head over very well-carbonated metallic golden beer with faint orange reflections; shards of lace. Yeasty nose, with white candi sugar and pale malts; notes as from dry white wine. Malts dominate: pale and slightly toasted; pretty dry and well-balanced. Finish is sweeter, even more malty. Well-carbonated to spritzy, medium bodied, well-attenuated; creamy texture. Pretty decent tripel, better than expected. Would do well as apéritif or with fish, IMO.
