Bottle courtesy of trade with Boris - cheers! Pours dark brown with a maroon tint and a very short lasting beige head. Aroma of chocolate, bread, caramel, malt and moderate roasting. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness, with a slight sour hint. Medium plus body, smooth oily texture, soft carbonation. Very likeable.

Roasty, chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of treacle, pumpernickel, dark caramel, a touch of rye spiciness. Taste is roasty dark malty, hints of dark chococate, some residual sweetness covers hints of treacle and pumpernickel, dark caramel, some rye spiciness, well regulated hoppy counterweight; minimally sticky palate.

Süßer, dunkel getreidiger Roggenantrunk. Brotig, weich, milde Herbe. Das süßliche Getreidearoma bleibt, süffig. Cremiger Mittelteil, schokoladig, Nuancen von Kräutern, weiter steigende Intensität. Gut. 10/12/11/11/9/11

0,33 l bottle swing top bottle, purchased at the brewery. Nearly black in the glass, one finger foamy beige head. Belgian fruity on the nose. Taste is more porterlike, malty with citrus sweetness. Nuts in the background. Littke bit oily mouthfeel. Bready in the second row. Easy to drink. Really nice one.
