Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep amber to brown with a decent head. Nose - toffee and nuts. Honey. Taste - hazelnuts and toffee. Praline. Marzipan. Palate - medium to full bodied with a sweet and tangy texture. The finish is sweet and almost cloying but not bad. Overall - decent example of the style even if it could be sweeter.

650 ml bottle, as Moylan’s Scotch Ale, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Golden reddish brown colour, large off-white head. Aroma of malts, caramel and woodwork, hints of dark dried fruits and red wine vinegar. Malty flavour, notes of caramel and dark dried fruits again, very moderate hops. Smooth to drink. Enjoyable.

Fra flaske på Mi2 Cardinal, aug-16: uklar brunlig med kort skum. Sparsomt humlet (men heldigvis ingen røykmalt å spore). Karamell, halvråtne røde bær. Kjedelig avslutning. Didn’t it the spot for me.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Dark amber/ brown color with frothy head. Normal earthy, peaty aroma, but flavor comes off as a bit sweet, molasses and brown sugar. Mild bittersweet finish.
