Bottle, thanks cocoapuph! Pours deep black, small tan head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is roasty, molasses, anise. Flavor is light sweet, medium bitter, bourbon, chocolate, a bit of vanilla. Medium body.

Sample at GABF 10/03/2014, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Pitch black pour with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes gradually. Patchy lacing. Aroma of chocolate malt, coffee and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky vanilla, bourbon, coffee and chocolate. The finish is boozy with an oaky and chocolatey aftertaste. Solid beer all around.

THX!!! to fux. 2013 Vintage. Pours an oily black with only some mocha bubbles on the side as a head. Nose is incredible, thick vanilla cake, brownies, chocolate chip cookies & cake, bourbon. Tastes like brownies, chocolate cake soaped in whiskey and rum, vanilla, very sweet, rum cake, palm sugar, melted milk chocolate, warming bourbon finish. Low carbonation, very oily. This is amazing, believe the hype.

Thanks to dak for the share. It pours deep and dark with a tan head of foam. The aroma is full and offers toffee notes, molasses sweetened dark roasted malts, dark roasted coffee and firm thick nose searing booze. The taste has a rich deep mix of dark roasted malts, molasses and toffee. Behind those notes are plenty of residual sugars and mild earthy coffee that go very well with the malt roastiness. The booze into the finish lets you know it’s there but it just reinforces the fact that this is a sipper, a very nice sipper.

Enjoyed at gabf 2014, holy shit I finally get to try this again and here it is at gabf hidden away in the Midwest section of booths, HELL YEAH! The blue waxed bottle pours (and I took several pours) with nice and inky dark body that has a decent looking toffee colored head. The aroma offers up an intoxicating combination of vanilla, smooth bourbon and chocolate goodness. Another pull brings up toffee candy mixed with dark roasted malts around the edged of the aroma. The taste is smooth and rich and involved with silky smooth vanilla and chocolate riding over a smooth carpet of soft bourbon booze. Just as you adjust to the degree of richness attacking your senses another level is quickly revealed with sweet toffee and dark roasted malt notes that have a faint malt burnt sensation and even more chocolate. Wow. Just an amazing sipper.
