Imperial Stout

Brewed with an abundance of malts, this stout is smooth as silk, yet complex and rich in body. Best enjoyed at cellar temperature to allow the notes of chocolate, dark fruit and caramel to soar. Put another log on the fire, sit back and enjoy the moment with this full-bodied and utterly delicious cold weather companion.

Bottle from a trade with sneakychi, many thanks! Beautiful pitch black color with a slight amber highlight towards the boundary and a big frothy dark beige head. Aroma is roasted coffee, thick molten black chocolate. Taste is black chocolate, but sweet, with roasted espresso notes and a nice spicy kick. Towards the end, a vineous dark fruit note blends in. Mouthfeel is thick, but also creamy-foamy with just the right amount of carbonation to tickle your tongue. A benchmark winter warmer, and an excellent Imperial Stout without that vanilla fanciness.

Oily, nearly black with thick tan head. Rich aroma of coffee, chocolate and licorice, dark fruit, some vanilla and hints of smoke. Thick and sticky mouthfeel. Flavour has cocoa and coffee, dark sugar, sour cherries and roasted bitterness. Stickyness and ABV well balanced by the lasting bitterness. Rock solid impy, sooo drinkable. And none of that fuken chili shit...

This imp Stout poured a very deep black colour with a dark brown head. Very creamy looking with minimal bubbles and little lacing. Literally looks like used motor oil. Scents include gummy bears, coffee cocoa and caramel. First swig was smooth and very creamy with flavours of molasses, brown sugar, caramel and coffee. Finish is sweet and smooth with excellent roasted caramel lingering.

355 ml. bottle at Tryk Bar, Copenhagen. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Roasted aroma with dark mlats, coffee, caramel, chocolate, vinous, alcohol dense notes, liquorice, vanilla, herbal hops and dark, dried fruits. Taste is bitter-roasted. Full body with an oily texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes lasting dry and roasted with liquorice and a wiff of booze. Excellent, rich Stout.

35cl Bottle, thanks douberd! Pitch black colour, brown head. Aroma of pumpernickel, coffee, ash, caramel, roasted malts, some dark fruits. Flavour is deep roasted malts, ashy, dry, chocolate, a lot less sweet than expected, caramel, light fruity, hoppy, firm bitter finish. Full bodied. Very good.
