A prolonged repose in bourbon-soaked American oak barrels adorns a dark chocolate profile with notes of toasted coconut and vanilla. A rich, supple texture belies the unholy power of our Imperial Oatmeal Stout.

Can shared at Craft Beer Junction - cheers to Dave. Pours black-brown with a creamy, tan head. Big sweet flavour, quite boozy, notes of caramel, ripe berries, low bitterness. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Finishes warming and boozy, more berries, caramel and toffee. Rich, not bad.

Can split at the CBJ share, thanks to the Wingmane, 11/01/2024.
Black topped with a khaki head that thins to the edge.
Nose is chocolate, spice, booze tunes, bourbon barrel effect.
Taste comprises brown sugar melt, light roast, molasses, light chocolate shavings, toffee.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a rising bourbon xoaked boost.
Solid.

Canned 10/4/23, drunk 12/16/23. Dark. Light tan head quickly to ring. Rich, chewy caramel, vanilla, milk chocolate and full whiskey with lead and spice. Just a mellow, rich, balanced nose with no booze. Sweet, rich, lightly syrupy. A bit too sweet, tough it's only two months old so can be forgiven. Good bourbon character, shockingly low warming for its size. Should be nice after six more months or so.

Aromas are lots of dark cocoa, a little molasses and hint of roast. Flavors are similar to nose, reasonably sweet with enough bitter and carbonation to balance. Cocoa and molasses come out a little more. Alcohol is well hidden. Good but not great.

Multiple cans from Livonia Liquor. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of brown head that lingers. Big bourbon and oak focused nose with dark chocolate, milk chocolate, vanilla and light dark fruit notes as it warms. Bourbon focused on the nose with more vanilla and dark chocolate. Balanced finished with more barrel character. Killer stuff.

Poured from 355mL can (pkg Oct/04/2021). Near black with quickly dissipating tan head. Oak is more dominant with some bourbon and a hint of wood glue, mild underlying coconut and vanilla. Integration is just okay. Good, but definitely room for improvement.
