A prolonged repose in bourbon-soaked American oak barrels adorns a dark chocolate profile with notes of toasted coconut and vanilla. A rich, supple texture belies the unholy power of our Imperial Oatmeal Stout.

From City Brew Tours, filled October 1st 2021.

It pours a pitch black with a good than fine head of tan foam, not lacking in lacing.

Smells of Bourbon, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, roasted malt...lots going on here. Including a pretty strong nose of alcohol.

The taste is Bourbon, coconut, chocolate, toffee, roasted malt and vanilla. Alcohol is very noticeable but welcome.

Full bodied with the carbonation spot on. Plenty of heat but I guess not as much as when it was fresh?

Could be the (strong) beer of the year for me!

355ml can at tasting 25.3.2023. Poured black in color. Thin head. Bourbony nose and flavors with coffee and vanilla. Sweetish but balanced. Roasty, dark wood.

12 oz can dated Sep/29/2022. Pours black with a light tan head. Boozy molasses, bourbon, and soy in the aroma. Flavor also boozy of course, molasses, cocoa, bourbon, soy/iodine, red grape. Sweet of course, but not overly so, and I quite enjoy it.

Fairly thin body, boozy, coffee roast, dark chocolate, vintage calf leather. A bit aggressive, this oughta be great having spent some time in a barrel. Oh wait

Sweetish, intense with barrel notes, oak, bourbon, chocolate sauce, coffee, chocolate, wood, vanilla, toffee and roastiness. Quite heavy but tasty.

Tap at Drunk Uncle. Quite to thick, luscious barrel tones for the style. Oaky, thick barrel tones, quite impressive there. Almost just had a syrupy thick base, devolved beer. Good barrel tone.
