Copper reddish amber, clear, frothy off white head, some lacing
Aroma of fruity malts, caramel, touch of peach, smooth malty aroma, no alcohol, sherry notes
Taste of rich caramel malts, some toffee, soft bitter hops in the background, dab of red berries, getting some biter orange in there, alcohol well hidden, quite subtle flavour
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, very smooth, oily texture, soth mouthfeel. Finish - a bit dry, alcohol well hidden, smooth silky caramel malts, then a slight bitter tail
Overall - Smooth vintage ale. Initially, I found it a bit bland (didn’t help drinking Jaipur before) but it got better with the drinking. Subtle, smooth well made ale

Aroma is quite light with some caramel, toffee and hay. Flavour has English hops, toffee and some biscuits. Also hints of vanilla and wood. Finishes with grainy notes and some gooseberry bush. Too English for me but decent anyway.

Bottled 2012 vintage. Ambery brown colour with a small head. Aroma is nutty, caramel, some slight nutmeg, floral notes as well as mild alcohol. Flavour is fruity and floral with some nutty and caramelly notes along with some fudge, alcohol and mild toasted notes. Some wood and vanilla in the finish.

Bottle 500ml.Unclear medium to dark red amber colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, dark fruit, light candy. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20121208]

Bottle from Theatre of Wine, (as Vintage 2012) Greenwich. Burnt orange pour with a light beige head. Aromas of orchard fruit, raisin and pear drops. Quite a malty character, I’m drinking it fresh and the malts are much more dominant for me. Berries and orchard fruit in the flavour with a splash of spice and caramel. Sweet malt finish. Quite tasty.

500ml bottle @ Gallows Bird, Espoo
Pours dark orange with a bubbly head. Aroma of dark ripe fruits, caramely malts and grassy hops. Taste is malty, grassy, sweetish and hints of fruits, oak and nutty notes. Finish is malty, slightly hoppy with hints of oak and nuts. Decent, quite malty ale.

500ml bottle from Utobeer. Clear ruby red with lasting beige head. Aroma of dry malt and fruity malt. Flavour of fruits, milk choc, some alcohol, some hop tingle on finish. Good warming beer. Quite a lot of sticky sediment stuck to bottom of bottle. Good warm beer.

Bottle from My Favourite Beers, Cheltenham, 11.02.12 consumed the same day in new Frank at Brierfields campsite, Cheltenham, Glos after a day of Morris dancing at Cheltenham Folk Festival Pours hazy brown with a head that swiftly departed. Malty and with a good depth of flavour, the oakiness showing along with a good hoppy profile. Plenty of dark fruits and some hedgerow ones as well but its the big maltiness that I find most striking and enjoyable. I have to confess to drinking this very late in the day after quite a few beers so my notes were at best sketchy, but I enjoyed this and will have to try and age one for the future.
