ABV may vary slightly.
The Export India Porter relates to porter in similar manner to the way the IPA relates to the Pale Ale: they added more hops. We’ve taken Barclay Perkins recipe from 1855, but changed the hops to Columbus and Cascade (American varieties) and hopped it in the same way that we hop our IPAs. The result is a dark brown beer that smells of cocoa, roses, and some orange. The body is quite light, and it is carbonated more highly than usual for a porter to make it more refreshing. It’s quite light in texture and tastes of Turkish delight dusted with cocoa powder – chocolate, rose water and fruit. Dry finish.

Huge greige head, black-brown beer. New World hops, rosewater, lychee. In the flavour, the hops' used are almost an off-taste: weyish, sweet rosewater. Medium bodied, quite (hopoil)slick. Not a real porter, IMHO.

Zwart bier met mooie bruine schuimkraag die lang blijft staan. Smaak is bitter en licht zoet met iets van zwarte koffie, noten en een vleugje zwarte bessen. Erg mooie Porter wat mij betreft.

Almost black with a not too big dark grey/light yellowish head that shows good retention and lacing. Classic porterish and rather strong aroma, showing roasted malts, coffee, slight chocolate and red fruits. Taste follows the aroma quite nicely, though it does not feel like everything is perfectly integrated. Roasted malts and coffee in the mouth, with hints of red fruits. Finish shows a dry, quite sharp (expecially per style) bittering note, with a dry aftertaste that shows a slight note of burnt malts. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation, higher than the average porter, resulting in a quite full mouthfeel for the style. This is a semi classic, slightly more robust interpretation of a porter. It's overall solid, but failed to impress me.

Tap at Horvati. Impressively pitch black, little off white head. Lovely aroma mixing clean maltiness and fruity hoppiness, creamy! Complez yet soft taste, coffee, chocolate, American aroma hops it would seem, fruity and herbal. Long mild roasty/bitter aftertaste. Excellent!

Smell - strong, dark chocolate, coffee and roast tones. Foam - soft, almost little creamy, dark chocolate tones, not carbonated. Taste - dark chocolate tones, little chocolate bitterness, some small aftertaste of same kind. Really enjoyable, if you like dark chocolate bitterness. Hops listed - target

Bottle shared with SK on board Fridtjofen 30.07.18. Ebony. Dense and persistent pale brown head and lacing. Excellent aroma of roasted malt, fresh coffee, cigar box, pine and juniper. Similar taste, with bitterness of pine and grapefruit. Still very drinkable. Bitterness, pine and juniper is lingering on.
