750ml Bottle - Dark brown, almost black in colour. Dried fruit and marzipan in the aroma. Rich and vinous taste with marzipan, dried fruit and caramel.

Bottle. Very dark brown with big beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, yeast, chocolate and notes of alcohol. Flavour is roasted malts, yeast, medium sweet, dried fruits, hops, chocolate, vinous, caramel, port wine, little liquorice and a little bitter.

15cl bottle sample @ Kerstbierfestival ’11, Essen. Brune foncée, col léger moka. Arôme est doux, fruité noir, réglisse et malt caramel. En bouche, alcool réchauffant, fruits noirs avec ce profile sucre candi presque de sucette le tout avec un aspect chocolaté et caramel en arrière goût. Alcool est présent et reste agréable, carbonnation est assez faible ce qui rend le tout épais en bouche. Léger fini amer, avec une pointe de carapils. Reste néanmoins très douce, un peu trop à mon avis.

Nice dark beer with a high amount of alcohol. Nice complex aroma with notes of caramel, chocolat and coffee. Unfortanetly it’s too sweet.

Bottle @ chriso. Pours a very dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty dark fruit aroma. Sweetish malty caramel and dark fruit flavor. Has a sweetish malty fruity dark fruit finish.

Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours darkest brown, with a very thin foamy head. The nose is filter coffee, roasted malt, caramel, nut and treacle. The taste is nut, caramel, toffee, molasses, coffee liqueur, tar, leather, brown sugar and alcohol warmth in the finish. Full body and moderate carbonation. Decent, but too sweet.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011. Pours a hazy brown with a small, off-white head. Sugary malts, ripe fruits and brown sugar in the nose. Surreal sweet flavor, boozy, lots of dark fruit. Full bodied with average carbonation. Warming finish, tons of sugar, light honey, ripened and darkened fruits. Delicious.

Sampled from bottle at SIB, pours dark brown with a reddish tinge. Aroma of bourbon, dark fruits and vanilla. Flavour is very sweet, dark fruits, booze, vanilla, cola and sweet candied sugar. Delicious.

750 from Beer Revolution. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is malty, dark fruity chocolate with noticeable alcohol. Flavors of raisin, chocolate, and then a ton of treacle. Gets quite sweet, and very dark. Drinking a full bottle would likely be a struggle, but perhaps worth the effort.

Sehr malziger und zu süßer Getreideantrunk. Aromatisch süß, zuckrig, etwas brennend. Sehr würzig, nun tiefgründig malzig, stimmig. Die Tiefe des Malzes ist nun extrem, schokoladige sowie trocken nussige Noten sind vorhanden, schwerfällig. 9/13/10/13//12
