This was not enough though; vanilla and lactose balance out the large amounts of chocolate malt and lend this stout a generous amount of complexity and round off the package.
For the aroma to come through to its fullest extent, do not consume at too low temperatures. Optimal temperature is around 10-12°C from a pint-glass or snifter. Best paired with something sweet or maybe some cheese or anti pasti.

Many thanks to David for sharing this bottle. Smooth fruity beginning. Like Black-Forest-Cake with malt. The cherries are deep, harmonising very well with the dark malt and the Tonka-beans. Very nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Not Your Grandma‘s Cake on 19 Jul 2019 at 21:29 - Score: 9. Original review text: Thanks to David. Fantastic balanced, the cherries and the roasted malts and the Tonka Beans. Great Black-Forest-Style-Cake.

Again a 0,33 l bottle from kappldav123. Thanks a lot! A darkest unclear brown ind the glass with an very fast fading beige head. Low malty smell, more a sweet choco with cherry. Taste is really a sweet brown cherry cake. No carbonation. Little bit dry to the end. Okay.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, almost black. Small head. Sweetish-malty aroma. Starts intense malty, quite sweet, notes of a lot of sweets. Some cocoa, some chocolate. Finish also with some herbal notes. Not my cup of tea.
