0,5 l bottle. Clear dark red brown with a nearly two finger beige foamy head. Looks really good. Malty with some sweetness on the nose. Taste is also malty, some sweetness, spicy, caramel. Little bit dry with a soft but present bitterness to the end. Nice.

500ml bottle. Clear, mahogany colour with wonderful, deep ruby shimmer, and small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, some caramel, a touch of rock sugar. Taste is rather dry, minimally sweet dark malty, notes of malt lozenge, hints of dark caramel, rock sugar; dry finish. Watery-creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, very fine, soft carbonation. Typical Bavarian Dunkel (malt lozenge dominated rather than roasty or chocolately) with well curbed sweetness. Nice.

Neutraler, leicht malziger Geruch.

Bottle at Wittmans Zolhaus tap, Landshut Sud - 14/07/12. Medium brown/copper in colour with a medium off-white head. Toffee/caramel malts on the nose and a little nutiness. Taste as nose with background dried fruit. Medium body and carbonation the best beer I had at their tap.
