Hazy dark amber, creamy offwhite head. Strong barrel notes, fruity, boozy, dry roast, some chocolate, chewy body, good bock, a bit much barrel for me.

Bottle with Munich Ratebeer Tasting group and consumed at Jonas's 2nd August 2022. Pours hazy mid amber with a white filmy head, it was foamy but this dropped off. Very creamy vanilla, really oaky, a little bit boozy but this is not bad, soft velvet moutheel. Good but perhaps the barrel is a little bit much.

Fläschla (750ml): Almost clear, almost copper coloured, small off-white head, moderate sweet (dark-) malty nose with several fruity spots, warm and woody background; moderate to sweet flavour, gentle bitterness, full bodied, very delicate woody-tannic acidity detectable; lingering and warming sweet malty and fruity finish, supported both by a light acidity and a mild bitterness.Nothing to complain...

75 cl bottle @ Huikas, BBE 10.07.2022 As Bourbon Bock Barrel Aged 2020. Aroma has grass, chlorine and sweet malt. Flavour has sinol, grass, some malty tones and gluey tones. Messy snd somewhat pointless.

0.75 l bottle from 'Flaschenfreund', 2018 vintage, cellared for over a year. Gusher! Slightly hazy, ruby with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, raisins, nuts, some bourbon and a touch of vanilla. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity taste of caramel, raisins, bourbon, some vanilla and a touch of marzipan, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly woody and a little warming finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant Bock, relatively dry because of the wood and therefore not too sweet, but unfortunately also a little thin.

Fläschla (recolte 2019): Copper coloured, not completely clear, bigger, slowly collapsing, off-white foamy head, mild to moderate sweet-bitter fruity-woody (vanilla included) nose with some malty-caramelly spots; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied, not overly soft; slightly lingering caramelly-malty and mild tannic-bitter finish with a delicate alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. Decent franconian quality, unfortunately not my cup of tea...

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass copper coloured, small head. Woody alcoholic aroma. Starts intense woody-malty, alcoholic, some sharp fruity notes, burning malty. Tastes stronger than it is. Finish milder, spicy-malty, still woody touch. Interesting.
