Tap @ Deschutes taproom, Bend. Pours clear deep brown, small off-white head. Aroma has liquorice nods, dark malt. Taste is liquorice-forward, distant chocolate, fairly light bodied, easy-drinking, gentle coffee hints. Nice flavourful, light porter.

Brown bottle, 355 ml, bottled on 12/01/17, drunk at Three Ravens Restaurant, served in a pils glass (?!?!), trip to the International Population Data Linkage Network conference, savoured on September 14 2018; eye: black, opaque, no effervescence, thin sheet of beige head, light lacing; nose: coffee, roasting, chocolate, light caramel, light fig; mouth: coffee, roasting, chocolate, light caramel, light fig, light lactic, slight cocoa, finale in coffee with light presence of burnt malt, medium-full body, lightly below-average carbonation, mildly bitter, lightly sweet, silky texture; overall: quite good

Pours dark reddish brown with a thick tan head. Strong aroma of watered malt. Taste has rich creamy notes of coffee and chocolate. Palate has the most subtle element of hops and a fascinating sweetened note that is almost imperceptible. Fantastic porter, absolutely indicative of style.

Bottle, from Bottle Liquor, Morro Bay. Pours dark brown with creamy large beige head, mocha-dark chocolate aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter mocha taste, smooth but watery thin body, long finish. Nice porter, but a bit too thin.

Nose is chocolate, cocoa, bread. Palate is cocoa, bread, just a tiny bit metallic, cocoa finish. Quite quaffable.

Draught at Maddys DC. Black with a cream head. Aroma of toasted malt and cream. Flavour is licorice malt, sweet chocolate on a coffee bean base, sweet milk chocolate finish.

Tap at the brewpub. I don't buy the hype; cant tell if im just beerd out but it feels again more like a schwarzbier than a lovely porter.

Dunkler, leicht schokoladiger Antrunk, fein malzig. Moderat herb, süffig, trocken getreidig, harmonisch. Rund, langer Nachhall. Gut. 10/11/10/9/8/10
