Experience pale malt flavors deftly balanced with savory hops in our spring lager. Dry hopping and extended aging give this blonde bock its distinctive floral aroma, enticing hop bite, and smooth malt finish.

500ml bottle. Bronze-tan color, some head. The aroma is sweet and pungent, pretty bocky and true to style. Actually ends up being quite enjoyable, with the sweet sugary malt up front, balanced by a nice hop crispness. Some nice lager notes beneath the almost peppery bitterness. A tad thin and watery, which probably is for the best for Sprecher.

Bottle from Beer Geek. Copper amber color with a slight white head. Aroma of sweetish malt with a little grassy hop. Medium body with fizzy/creamy carbonation. Flavor is mild caramel/toffee, florality, light stone fruit, and mild bitter. Not your standard American lager. Really quite tasty. It could almost pass for ale. No higher encomium can be allotted.

Aged and also dry hopped. Light amber color, low, lace head. Aroma rather light. Cereals, grain, apples, some hops. Not very appealing. Very fruity flavor, but not much else. Sweet, with apples, cherries, a bit of hops. Slightly more hoppy in the finish, with fruit. Dry. Very straight-forward, uninteresting malt character. Not much going on here. Like a slightly sweet, too fruity amber lager. Too much fruit, no complexity. Drinkable and un-offensive, but not a traditional maibock taste at all. --- Beer merged from original tick of Mai Bock on 01 Sep 2008 at 20:02 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 5. Tap at HDG - clear golden beer - flowery, almost perfume-like aroma, with an odd musty quality - thin body - flavor of honey, grain, mild flowers - light and drinkable, but nothing special.

Bottled. An amber beer with a beige head. Both the aroma and flavor are cleanly sweet malty.

50 cL bottle. Pours golden orange, clear, with a white head. Spiced to citric hoppy and malty aroma and flavour, untraditional for a mai bock - but good.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Clear, deep golden with a small, white head leaving laces. Malty aroma with lightly citrusy hops. Medium body, lightly sweet, pale malts and a dry, hoppy finish. Straight all right. 180907

Light amber color. Light arma of dry cardboard, light malt and caramel. Dry mouthfeel, but with a fairly good malt and caramel flavor. Not exceptional, but pleasant to drink.
