100% Simcoe hops make up this beer from start to finish! It is named for the location in the experimental hop yard in Yakima, WA, where it was first created. Simcoe is grown by 3 families in the Yakima area, from all of whom we buy this particular hop (and other hops) — Carpenter, Perrault, and Smith. This is one of several beers we plan to make in our NEW “Hop Grower’s Series” highlighting certain hops from our growers! It has that trademark Simcoe nose with citrus and pine, nice bitterness and tasty hop flavors round it out.

Re-rating as this beer is much more vibrant on the second time. Maybe it is more fresh. Both the aroma, flavor and mouthfeel really jump out on this. Grapefruit and rind are HUGE! Rating from 10/31/20 - From bottle to glass. Grapefruit aroma and slight biscuit. Clear light gold with white head. Flavor is grapefruit and cracker malt.

500 mL bottle poured, shared by Tcon. Thanks! Quite the fun California haul! Soft cloudy golden pour, rocky foam head. Smooth taste, well balanced grains and grassy hops. Really flavorful hop linger. Excellent Simcoe showcase, and another solid hoppy Russian River offering. I miss traveling.

Pint in the Public House, Temecula on 20th Dec 2017. Amber pour, decent white head. Tropical fruits in the nose with pine forest behind it. Taste as the aroma, tropical fruits to the fore with those trees in the background. Simple, easy drinking Pale Ale.

Tap at Neighbourhood, San Diego, 22nd November 17. Clear, slight head. Aroma is floral, perfume, light citrus. Taste is light floral, citrus, pith and bitter. Reminds me of a lower ABV Pliny.
