330ml bottle shared at home. Looks like another classic interpretation of a style by these guys. Bit cloudy maybe, but good amber pours with off-white, lingering head. Aromas of biscuit, roasted chestnuts and yeast. Fruit and spice in the taste, finishing with a light bitterness. Solid amber beer.

Yeasty and malty amber beer with some nice notes of sweet fruits and some caramel. Decent, but not one of Struise’s best.

Amber with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, apples, berries, forest floor. Low carbonation. Taste is sweet and nutty with pronounced spices and slight sourness. A little bit of chocolate. Mildly bitter and dry finish. Slight but charming.

Bottle from Belgium in a Box; Colour amber with a red tinge quite cloudy and a fluffy white head, flowery aroma, taste is sweet malts with some spice. Had a Moeder Lambik Amber 5% ABV on the same night supposed to be the same beer as this but it is not.

Bottle (from Het Oude Schooltje, Oostvleteren ) consumed on Le Shuttle, poured in a glass, between Callais and Folkestone - 20/10/12. Reddish shade of amber/brown with a thin off white head that soon clears. Nose of toffee, vinous fruits, bread, yeast, malt, raspberry syrup. Tastes of caramel, fruits, nutty tones, light trace of Belgian yeast. The alcohol is well disguised and whilst only 6% you’d be forgiven for thinking you were drinking 3.5/4! Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a slightly bitter and dry finish.
