Don’t just take our word for it, ask any fisherman and they’ll attest – it’s not only the trickle of trout that bites on the tranquil River Stour at Blandford.
Should you wade these waters on a warm summer’s night, beware the infamous Blandford Fly, whose bothersome bite can only be soothed with a spicy slice of fresh ginger.
A uniquely sweet and spicy golden ale with a refreshingly different ginger taste, offset with hints of sweet toffee.

500 ml. bottle. Definite ginger aroma. Medium dull copper color with a fizzy white head. Warm gingery bite over biscuit or light caramel. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Finish is fairly dry, and becomes zesty as the ginger clarifies, and builds in the mouth. Good for drinking, and also for washing down ginger cookies.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a slowly collapsing white head. Spiced aroma of - ginger....why? Flavour is initially sweet and somehow that suites the ginger well - nicely balanced yet with a distinct ginger bite/sharpness into the far finish with a light perfumery feel. Very unusual yet by far the best ginger spiced beer I’ve had.

50cl bottle. Actually I found this to be very well made though I didnt cared much for the heavy ginger dominants. Smooth, soft & filling mouthfeel. OK!

Vivid amber colour, almost orange with a contrasting white head. Ginger very prominent, too much so, in both flavour and aroma. Lots of fizziness. Not much else. I won’t be buying this one again.

Pours a dark amber with touch of a white head; quite lively; spicy ginger aroma, and similar taste; refreshing, despite the sweetness, and quite full-bodied with a dry aftertaste.

Bottled. Pours golden, with an off-white, nitro-like head. Ginger dominates the aroma, there is just some malt and hop in the background. A bit more malty flavor, but a lot of ginger here too. Medium body. A bit too focused on ginger IMO, but could maybe go well with south-east Asian cousine? (060711)
