Tap @ Drie Dorstige Herten. Brown colour, thin tan head. Nose is molasses, raisins, maybe a bit of oats, roasted matls, some bitterness and fruits. Flavour is light roasted malts, raisins, molasses, dark fruits, a slight toastiness and oats in the finish.

On tap at Borefts BF 2012, Bodegraven. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan cap. Rich, bready nose with moderate yeast, toffee, dates. Big sweet flavor, smooth, with semi-dark sugars, ripe fruits, figs, dates, a bit more toffee. Full bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Lightly warming finish with candied fruits, good and smooth bread, ripe fruits, plums, dates. Great balance. Very smooth.

bouteille 30cl. Cuivrée, col épais beige crémeux-café au lait. Arôme de grains, malté et levure, houblonné frais, léger fruité rouge-noir avec une pointe de caramel. Léger côté bread gardant un bouquet certain belge, le tout sur une fine note de réglisse. Palais est agréablement malté, caramel, sucré moyen. Léger fruité noir laissant une fine note d’aigreur rappelant le prune. Le tout garde ce côté sucré assez prenant couplé à une amertume modérée tirant vers l’herbacé et citronné. S’éloigne un peu de l’idée générale que l’on se fait d’une quad typique belge. Ici une levure restant un peu trop pesante, fini sec avec pas mal de caramel, fini épicé et fruité mais qui manque juste ce petit extra.

Süßer, hell brotiger Antrunk mit leichten Alkoholnoten. Hell würzig, später dunkler werdend. Leichte Bitterkeit. Süffiges rundes Bier, in dem der Alkohol gut versteckt ist. 8/10/11/11/8/11

Bottle looks interesting. Beer in the glass dark, but not black. Alcoholic aroma. Starts strong, alcoholic notes, also quite fruity like berries. Finish warming, more malty, still fruity hints. Interesting!

Dark brown to black colour, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, dried fruits, malts, raisins and light spicy yeast. Rather sweet malty flavour, ripe fruits, light alcoholic. Finish dried fruits, sweet malts, brown sugar and light spicy yeast.
Reminding of a Belgian abt, but somewhat lighter.

Draught @ Borefts 12. Opaque brown color, small beige head. Smell malts, sweetness. Taste malts, dried fruits, sweetness. A bit silky mouthfeel, medium body, low to medium carbonation.

Draft @ Borefts 2012. A light dark brown amber with a lightly tanned head - smells of dark fruits, brown bread and malts + Belgian yeast - overall pretty Belgian like but not an overly impressive attempt although certainly not per se bad - medium sweet malts, belgian yeast, lighter slightly ripe dark fruits, raisins light brown sugar and toffee - medium bodied
