Draft @ Jabeerwocky, Warsawa. Brune foncée, col café au lait, doré au verre. Arôme au nez malté avec de belles effluves de chocolat et ponctué par un rétro de framboises qui confèrent cet effet terreux avec un léger accompagnement de mélasse. Framboise revient en rétro-nasal. Palais est malté, caramel et pâle avec pas mal de café et de grillé, retrouve un effet un peu terreux de framboise et une belle pointe d’aigreur fruitée. Palais est épais avec un petit effet cendre - malté. Epais avec retour de mélasses, chocolaté, le tout avec une petite note d’agrumes et houblons en fin de bouche. Du lourd typiquement US pour cet RIS et où la framboise trouve bien sa place.

Bomber split with Kraddel. Black, small head. Nose is sadly soy sauce, roated, herbal, umami, gravy, lacking fruit. Taste is weird, like hazlenut mixed with cereal / granola bars, dates with gravy, cacao, cereal, vague fruit, raspberry is almost entirely obscured, umami, almost herbal malts,.... Soy sauce & hazelnut granola bars,... Strange but rather enjoyable even if not really what I hoped for & far from as amazing as some other CCB beers.

Bottle shared thanks to kermis. Almost black with small dark beige head. Raspberry, lots of weird candy, licorice, sweet malts, lots of roast, some coffee. Quite sweet and licorice bitterness. Over medium bodied. Quite weird.

Bottle shared at tasting. Pitch black pour with a tan head. Notes of perfumey raspberries, raspberries, sweet raspberry jam, chocolate. Quite sweet, the raspberries taking over the taste. --- Beer merged from original tick of Raspberry Halo on 02 Apr 2017 at 01:05 - Score: 8
