Draught at Rbabarrab. Espresso head, clingy lacing, jet black body. Rich aroma of chocolate and cocoa. Nicely roasted dark malty flavours full of chocolate, not overly sweet. Coffee hints to a lingering end. Full bodied and smooth. A pleasure to drink this one. (Copenhagen 14.05.2017).

Bottle from The Beerhive. Black body with a medium brown head. Good lacing. Aroma of coffee, chocolate ice-cream and charred wood. Flavour of metal, soy sauce and a hint of malt vinegar. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft carbonation. It’s not as sweet or as rich as the aroma suggests; instead it is quite coppery and savoury.

Klasse.

On tap at The Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Well I am expecting big things from this. Black beer lasting tan head. Coffee before I get the glass to my nose. And not just any coffee mocha. Intense coffee chocolate wafer aroma. Delicious aroma. It?s smooth and wonderful in the mouth. If only all imperial stout could be this good. No dicking around with bourbon or whisky. Some light burn on the finish let?s you know it?s abv. I mean it?s sensational. After 18000 beers i love to be completely floored by something this good. It is a taste sensation. I just love the chocolate wafer flavour. Outstanding . Well it?s a 4.6 no doubt. My highest rated beer in ages. Wow. Yes more vanilla comes on. Even still i stand buy my high rating it’s excellent.

Tap@Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen (4th year birthday 18/03/2017) - pours black with a brown head. Sweet and roasted malty aroma and taste with coffee, chocolate, caramel, smooth body and mouthfeel, some sweet vanilla accents into the close.

Bottle 330ml @ Sommerhuset
Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, hazelnuts, alcohol and coffee. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, chocolate, vanilla, coffee and nutty finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out moderate roasted malt, lots of bitter coffee, no notice of vanilla beans. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very dry toasted malt character, light coffee and again, no notice of the coffee. Not overly complex, but nicely structured. Very good, but overrated.

Bottle. Dark brown. Tasty with espresso accents on the nose, and some brown sugar. Not bad, actually. On the palate, a bit light, but with the same toastiness. and a touch of vanilla. A lot more beer-like, and les sweet goofy than the one I had on draught the other day. 4-7-7-4-14

Draught @ Elizabeth StationDark brown. Has a mocha-ish nose, chocolate and just a touch of coffeeish roast. Bitter...someone really burned the shit out of those beans. Chocolate syrup, overroasted beans, ok, some sort of generic base imply. Big meh. Ruined Ethiopian beans and pointless sweetener. 6-4-5-2-11 = 2.8
