Another happy bring-home 750 ml bottle from an excursion to the Dallas area. Poured into my Chimay Trappist glass it shows an opaque, gold body sharing a bright white, lingering foam. Lifting the glass to smell I detect spun sugar and yellow fruit. Taking a drink, it is quite different from the scent. I get green apple, yeast, a mild bitterness from start to finish. The alcohol is totally concealed. Worth the effort, glad to have a sampling, but maybe I set the bar too high.

Have had already many bottles from this beer, but shared a bottle with Rabo yesterday. The color is light, heavy in alcohol, good aroma. In my opinion there are better tripels.

330 ml bottle. Hazy honey gold color. Large frothy white head. Sweet lemony, yeasty nose. First sip is tangy, sweet effervescence. Hints of chalk, sweet lemon, rustic bread, vanilla and earthy ferment. Soft on the palate, grainy stewed citrus notes. Dry and spicy notes in finish. Quite delicious is this.

Somewhere in between dark golden and light orange, slightly hazy. Good frothy and quite dense white head, good retention and nice lacing. Aroma has a light bready/crackery malts base, strong fruity esters (pear, maybe peach and strong banana), plus spicy and herbal hints. Taste has crisp bready/crackery maltiness, feels slightly earhty/yeasty, boosts strong fruitiness (candied fruit, banana, pear), moderate spiciness and a touch of alcoholic warminess. Overall quite on the sweet side in the mouth but a dry, bitter herbal finish gives it a quite unique character for the style. Medium to dense body with quite high carbonation, with a rich and mouthfilling but also quite heavy feel. Definitely a ’dense’, complex, warming tripel, and definitely a not too easy beer. To be enjoyed slowly.

Ausdrucksstark.

Bottle from bierland. A tough one. Do I only enjoy drinking this because it is mightily strong? It has a wonderful constant light fizz, deep gold and good head. Very big alcohol profile. Not so sure there is much depth in flavour personally, not as ’tasty’ as Karmeliet. Bitter-sweet. (8/5/17 ---- Botrle from systemet. A class act. 3.4 to 3.5. Need to retry (23/5/20) ------ Bottle from Systembolaget. Aroma is pretty non descript, light and floral. Appearance is absolutely fantastic. Bright golden yellow with lively spread out fizz and lasting foam. Apple in the flavour. Big booziness and a dry finish. The taste ain't that interesting and the finish isn't either but it has this addictive mature bitter ending. A tricky one but hey, 3.5 to 3.6.(15/4/21) ---- Bottle at Mi Chef, Kortrijk. Aroma is quite absent. Appearance is lovely gold with lasting foam. Taste is mature and almost spicy. Some agreemtn with above but taste coming more across this time. The ending is a grower as that spicy bitterness gets you. I'll give it 3.6 to 3.7
