Milk sugar in your stout is like cream in your coffee. Just enough sweetness to keep the dark roast in check. Rich and robust, our classic Milk Stout exhibits notes of dark chocolate, freshly brewed coffee, caramelized sugar and roasted malt.

Bottle. Aroma woody, whisky, light peat, moderate dark fruits. Very dark brown colour. Taste is milk chocolate (more in late taste), light whisky, very light smooth peat. Milky indeed and overall rather sweet. Finish is neutral, quite short duration (shorter than expected), coffee, roasted. Good one. 7 4 7 4 15. Rerate tap at Beergeek Bar. Most of previous rating applies. Only now I perceive it as an incredibly complex and greatly enjoyable beer.

14/04/2013 La Tana (tap). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma beige-cappuccino, molto abbondante e persistente. Al naso sentori malti tostati, cioccolato fondente, vaniglia, lievito, ossidazione. In bocca è morbida, dolciastra all’attacco, con note di lattosio e cioccolata, finale leggermente più amaro. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione soft, quasi piatta. Non male, anche se un po’ ossidata.

Rating Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro. 12 oz. bottle. Pours an opaque black with a minimal head that is caffe in color. Aromas of coffee, milk, and chocolate. Tastes like an iced coffee w/cream and a touch of sugar. Medium body with a slick texture. Carbonation is average.
This is what I would call an indifferent beer. It doesn’t do anything really well, and it doesn’t do anything really poorly. Maybe they should have called it Milquetoast instead.

Thanks to Ben for letting me try this! Poured a pitch black body with an off white head. Milk coffee / Nescafé aroma. Slightly sourish dry taste, Nescafé 3 in 1 taste, nothing more, nothing less.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the new Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks zvikar. As Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro. Dark brown to black-colored, not opaque, with a beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate and a bit of coffee. Sweetish roasty flavor with some chocolate, slightly bitter finish. Mouthfeel is a bit watery. Decent.

Bottle at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 02/03/13. Light black to extremely dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head that clears to a swirl. Nose is roast malt, milk chocolate, lactic notes, molasses. Taste comprises milk chocolate, paper, sugars, lactic notes, toffee, ash, light roast malting. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sweet and dry in the finish. Ok stuff.

Old but properly stored bottle thx to joes. Pitch black colour with a decent sized beige head. Smells quite sweet, roasty, chocolate. Tastes like chocolate milk. Sweet, chocolate, milky.. It even feels a little bit like a milkshake, but I guess that’s my imagination. Like a fluid milkyway. Also reminds me of the nesquick stuff where you add milk and then stirr it to get chocolate milk. I kinda like it, but it’s quite unique and weird at first. Medium body, feels soft and soft carbo.

355 ml. bottle purchased @ Delirium Hoppy Loft // shared @ home // pours a dark brown, lightly black, very dark amber with a decent mocha head // smell is sweet milky, cocoa powder, chocolate milk, light lactose and sweet coffee with milk, very homogenous, a lot of these milk beers you can pick out the lactose separately like powder sprinkled into it & this comment also counts for the taste // taste is also homogenous, sweet milky, cocoa powder, light roast, coffee with milk, lactose blended in, not grainy, creamy, milk chocolate,… // creamy, coffee with lots of milk feel, really liked this // can imagine why this would a hit on nitro
