Milk sugar in your stout is like cream in your coffee. Just enough sweetness to keep the dark roast in check. Rich and robust, our classic Milk Stout exhibits notes of dark chocolate, freshly brewed coffee, caramelized sugar and roasted malt.

Bottle (the nitro version) from Great Grog. Black body with a dense beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of nuts, charred wood and dark chocolate. Flavour of creamy chocolate, vanilla ice-cream and wood. Medium body with a luscious texture. Very soft fizz. Lacks depth and complexity, but it’s creamy and smooth.

Bottle. Has a black color with a small light brown head. Roasted aroma with coffee, dark chocolate, lactose and heather. The flavor is more roasted with ash, hard roasted coffee beans and chocolate. Incredibly soft mouth feel, full-bodied and light bitterness. A great, roasted and well-balanced milk stout.

Slightly clear, very dark brown beer with a beige head. Light aroma of chocolate and coffee. Flavour is chocolatey malt, a bit of sweet coffee. There’s a slight nutty hint to the aftertaste as well. Rich, smooth and very drinkable.

Nitro version bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Julio’s Liquors. Aroma is strong rich roasted malts with lactose, coffee, vanilla, chocolate, dark fruits. Appearance is dark brown pour with fleeting nitro cascade after aggressive pour. Creamy tan head like the top of a milk shake with trace lacing. Taste is rich mix of sweet and bitter from the roasted malts with coffee, vanilla, chocolate, mild alcohol. Palate is surprisingly light bodied with creamy texture, nice long mix of sweet and creamy finish. Overall, this is one nice brew. Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from One Stop Market, Haverhill, MA. Aroma is lactose, mild milk chocolate, coffee. Appearance is dark, opaque brown with trace head, no lacing. Taste is lightly sweet with some chocolate and coffee, light anise in finish. Palate is light bodied with thin texture and mild carbonation. Overall, a good beer but not a standout in a tough category. Non-nitro version 3.8.

Poured into a taster showing black center with translucent coffee rims and sparse latte colored foam. The nose shows coffee and hints of soy sauce. The palate is nitrogenated and medium bodied. Very light flavors of coffee and subtle notes of soy sauce. Barely any bitterness.

Bottle @home, cellared for 10 months. Pours opaque black with thick creamy diminishing brown head. Very good lacing, medium to full body, oily texture, rich mouthfeel, average carbonation, average alcohol, bitter-sweet and slightly dry finish with average sweet aftertaste . Strong malty aromas, chocolate, roasty malt, hints of coffee, brown sugar, and licorice. Medium to strong sweetness on the tongue coming from lactose, medium bitterness from citrus hops, orange peel. Deliciously paired with a bar of Happy Cows Milka chocolate (alpine milk and white chocolate). I’m very pleased. Outstanding!

Had this one in Vegas thanks to David. Pours a very dark brown colour with a mocha head, average retention and minimal lacing. Roasted malt with grain notes and hints of coffee, hops. The taste is sweet with some soft roasted malt chocolate, milder hops, but creating a little bitterness. The mouthfeel is smooth. A decent milk stout with a little more hop than usual for this style.
