Westmalle Extra is the table beer served to the monks and their guests and is brewed with water, barley malt and hop cones. The Westmalle Dubbel and Tripel yeast is also used for this beer. Westmalle Extra is also top-fermented but it is considerably lighter, at 4.8%, alcohol-by-volume than its brother brews. It has the characteristic Westmalle aroma with hops coming through in the finish. It is a real thirst-quencher.

[Thanks to fonefan]. Golden beer with a good formation of white head with a perfect duration. Aroma has citrus and malty notes. Flavour is moderate bittery with mild citrus hints and a very dry final. Carbonation is medium. Body is medium.

Bottle as shown thanks to pimptastic at RBWG 2012. Pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. The aroma is a yeast and pepper. Medium mouthfeel with a clove and lingering dry finish. A good belgian from Westmalle.

Bottle at home from beer planet. It pours straw yellow, with a thick white head. The nose is hay, pepper, nutmeg, coriander and some sweet pear. The taste is pear, apple, melon, spice (particularly pepper), herbal, grass, hay and dough, with a dry, peppery finish. Light to medium body and lively carbonation. Quite subtle actually and well balanced. Enjoyable.

Slightly hazy golden yellow, firm white head. Quite crisp aroma, fruity hops, spicy, yeast, firm malts background. Flavour is sweet malty, balanced bitter hops. Dry hoppy finish. I quite like this one.

Hazy blond colour. Thin lacy head. Quite a sharp aroma. A crisp and refreshing beer with a little bit of spiciness and a dry, slightly hoppy finish.

Thanks to Joes for a bottle of this. Had it @ home, shared with DutchDrebus. Very easy to drink Belgian ale with a decent body for only 4.5 (mine said 4.8)%ABV.

Bottle looks simple but good. Also the cap is nice. Aroma is sweet hoppy. Starts mild, modest hoppy-dry, not too bitter, soft lemon touch. Finish a little bit metallically, still mild. Nice, but nothing really special.
