With a thick body, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, and a lingering aftertaste, Hannibal is more like a liquid dessert than a beer. Dark, bitter and sweet, it’s a beer to enjoy on cold nights in front of a fire.

Canned, thanks martjoobolut! Black, brief beige head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Near full bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel and spritzy carbonation. Tar and licorice. Salty bitter finish.

Bottle. Almost black. Coffee, milk chocolate and hazelnuts in the aroma. Soft roast, cacao, milk chocolate and hazelnuts in the sweet flavor. Roasty finish. Decent.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with small to average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige head. Extraordinary clean, true, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, chocolate with high cocoa percentage, very cautious fruity overtones of blueberry. Taste is initially roasty dark malty and alcoholic, slightly chocolately, a touch of coconut; slightly fruity interlude with a touch of blue grapes, morello and blueberry. The alcoholic part turns out to be slightly ephemeral, but it takes until the finish to reach harmony of flavours and to re-establish the pure chocolateliness of the aoma.

Draught @ TCBW’18. Rated on 5.5.2018
Aroma is nice with coffee and licorice. Flavour has licorice, spiciness, oaty malt. Alcohol is present but does not disturb. A slow sipper.

Dark brown beer with some light brown foam on top. Nose has light roast, relatively dry with some herbal note. Taste is dry, lots of coffee and heaps of bitter 99% cocoa chocolate. Not sticky nor sweet, so drinks actually easy. Dry and roasty.
