With a thick body, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, and a lingering aftertaste, Hannibal is more like a liquid dessert than a beer. Dark, bitter and sweet, it’s a beer to enjoy on cold nights in front of a fire.

Thanks jinroh for sharing the bottle! Poured into a taster showing pitch black with sparse latte colored foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of molasses and dark malt. The palate is medium bodied and moderately carbonated. A lot of dark roasted malt with burnt malts and a burnt black note finish.

Floor 42, share a bottle or two! Thanks to Mr Angry Tipple. Almost opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Dry creamy dark malts, some dark chocolate and malt roast. Tangy fruits. Light and bitterish finish. Fine but an Impy like many others.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Tipple. Pours black-brown with a creamy, khaki head. The aroma holds milk chocolate, light roast, burnt marshmallows. Medium sweet flavour with burnt wood, butter earth, dark chocolate. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with light warmth, more bittersweet cocoa, scorched earth. Not bad.

Bottle at L42. It pours black with a thick tan head. The aroma is toasty, earthy, rich roast, quite savoury, salted liquorice, plum, umami and cacao. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malt, liquorice, umami, peppery spice, charred action, fruit cake, dried berry, toasty sugars and some booze through the finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. A bit chewy and toothy, but alright.
