With a thick body, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, and a lingering aftertaste, Hannibal is more like a liquid dessert than a beer. Dark, bitter and sweet, it’s a beer to enjoy on cold nights in front of a fire.

Bottle at L42. It pours black with a thick tan head. The aroma is toasty, earthy, rich roast, quite savoury, salted liquorice, plum, umami and cacao. The taste is smooth, rich roasted malt, liquorice, umami, peppery spice, charred action, fruit cake, dried berry, toasty sugars and some booze through the finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. A bit chewy and toothy, but alright.

Bottle split at L42, thanks to Adrian for sourcing, 19/07/17. Light black with a decent tan head. Nose is dusty fruits, toffee, raisins, black peppery spice, coco rub. Taste comprises charr, roast, treacle toffee, dark fruit rinds, fruit cake, faint coffee. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, light warming boost in the close. Ok impy ... doesn’t deliver on the hefty ABV.

Bottled 330ml (Uba ja Humal, BB 09/2017)
Opaque black color, small brownish head. Aroma is rye bread with cocoa. Hints of lactose. Medium to full-bodied. Flavor is black bread, cocoa and some dark chocolate. Toasted flavors with light hoppyness in the background. A bit lactic too. Ok beer but seems a bit overrated here, somewhat simple impy for 3,8+.

33cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours close to black with a moderate, beige head. Heavy aroma of roasted malt with dark, bitter chocolate, dark fruits, notes of dark fruits and hints of coffee and wood. Medium sweet with fairly high flavour intensity and a rather balanced bitterness. Strong, flavourful and warming, pleasant and certainly enjoyable.
