Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff feb-13: En belgier med 115 IBU er ikke hverdagskost. 7.9%, meget højt skum og aroma av jordbærplanter. De har brukt Magnum, Chinook, Columbus og Hallertauer Mittelfrüh. Stor munnfylde pga den entusiastiske karboneringen. Tørr ettersmak med litt pepper. En litt uvant men god belgier.

330 ml stubby bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 7.9%, 115 EBU. Hops are Magnum, Chinook, Columbus and Hallertauer Mittelfrüh. Hazy deep golden colour, huge white head. Lovely aroma of fruity hops, particularly citrus and tropical fruits, hints of pine trees. High level of carbonation in the mouth. The flavour is very sweet with a yeasty spiciness, but also very bitter. Distinctly hoppy throughout. The aftertaste is very bitter, nearly medicinal.

Huge offwhite head slowly turns coarse. Slightly hazy deep yellow body with carbonation. Light earthy fruity aroma. Dry-sweet earthy herbal spicy taste with peppery dried fruit notes. Mid-bodied. Dry, and slightly bitter, coriander and pepper aftertaste with cinnamon and dried fruit notes. It’s quite nice, but a bit too sharply spicy and too bitter. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours hazy golden to orange with a nice & large white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, herbs, some fruit and a hint of pine. Bitter and a bit yeasty with a dry and very bitter finish. Surprisingly bitter Belgian ale, but a nice one!

On tap @ Borefts 2012. This one is light cloudy and orange in color. It has a massive white top that slowly fades into a sidesticking little film. The aroma has ripe fruity melon berries, a strange raisin sweetness, some bitter hops and tones of alcohol. It's soft prickling on the carbonation and quite oily on the mouthfeel. A bit boozy in flavor also. Fruity, some grapefruit-like bitterness and a little bit of yeast. Nice warming aftertaste. 28.09.2012

Boreft Beer Festival 2012. Cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma of citrus with a mineral note and a touch of spice. Dry and rather clean hoppy flavour with a faint tart note in the finish

Very hazy amber beer. Massive foamy white head. Very lager like on the nose. Slightly dry palate. Strong malts, very tripel like. Distinct and rich honey. Followed by some floral sweetness and then a little bitterness in the dry soft finish. Different! Perhaps a little too sweet and dry.

Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria 12oz draught ($10): Pours an amber colour with a small head. Aroma is of Belgian yeast, an ample amount of hops, and a surprising amount of malt. Taste is on the sweet side. Also, there is a surprising amount of hops for a Belgian IPA, especially because those hops are more bitter than one would expect. Belgian aspects certainly shine through. Malt heavy for a BIPA. Not one of the best.
