12 ounce bottle - 2017 batch - this is an interesting one - I’ve never had the Shiga beer, but have had the HotD and De Molen - I can distinctly taste both beers - the deep roast, vinous notes, and licorice of the Hel and the treacle and deep fig of the Fred - there is a back-end spiciness and a hint of smoke, leading to a warming finish - starting to get a little thin with age - not sure I would cellar further, but it is quite good right now.

Delish. 12oz bottle. Licorice and anise. Chewy malt. Some dried fruit, but tons of roast and burnt toast. Bitter. Dry. Full bodied. Really nice. Oldest old school. 8 8 8.5 9 8

Bottle shared at the June DCBeer share. Poured a near-black color with a small tan head. Flavor was super rich with velvet chocolate and layered sweetness. A decadent and smooth sipper.

From tap at Borefts 2017. Aroma is dark roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, raisins, some alcohol, rich chocolate cake, and sweet dried fruits. Flavour is sweet and a bit boozy. Body is full and sticky. Wow, such a nice blend, lots of depth and complexity. Delicious.

(Draught at Omnipollos Kyrka, Sundbyberg, 19 Feb 2022) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with chocolate, caramel and roasted malt. Malty, vinoustaste with notesof caramel, roasted malt, dried fruit, oak wood, vanilla and a mild roasty bitterness in a vinous and warming finish. Full body, quite sweet. Tasty and powerful, still in excellent balance. Very nice.

Keg at Borefts Day 2 23/09/2017. A clear cola brown with a sticky halo of beige head. Aroma is milky chocolate malts, brown sugars, soft roast. Flavour is composed of spicy roast, cinnamon, milky choc, coconut, spicy nutmeg. Palate is mellow roast, woody, moderate carbonation , creamy.

Bottle. A very interesting beer, very complex with lots of stuff going on. Roasty, with coffee, licorice, chocolate, light lactose, light sweetness, crazy complex malt character. Hop and rye, light grapefruit and orange. Chocolate ice cream notes, somewhat dry finish. Vanilla. Wow! Very impressed by this. So complex, the combo of styles makes this so interesting.

Draught @ Borefts 2019 Aroma has coffee and sweet molasses. Flavour has alcohol, licorice, some herbal tones and mild raisins. Heavy and sweet alcohol-loaded IS. Works as a slow sipper.
