Tap @ Borefts 2017. Almost black. Roast, a hint of licorice, caramel and butterscotch in the aroma. Full bodied. Roasty. Malty sweet flavor with hints of licorice and toffee. Maple syrup. Sticky but nice, though the sum of the parts isn't necessarily smaller as the result.

Bottle from De Molen. Color: Black, light brown head. Aroma: Roasted malt, mocha, fudge, caramel, soy sauce. Taste: Complex combination of flavours. I taste coffee, mocha, dark dried fruit, dark berries, dark and roasted malt, rye, molasses, soy sauce, booze, some vanilla, Bourbon and wood. Earthy. Medium sweet, above medium bitter. Full body, below average carbonation. Dry-ish mouthfeel. One thing is for sure: A blend of Imperial Stout, Black IPA and Ryewine makes this beer a heavy black beast. One to enjoy slow sipping.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle from Douglas poured into a snifter. Black with medium/big light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, medium/thick body, medium/well carbonated, and pretty good small-bubble lacing. Taste is toasty, dark chocolate, some oak, a little anis, and slightly dry finish.

On tap at Brouwer's Cafe - Big Wood β18, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is extremely barrel-heavy, with loads of wood and booze. Flavour is quite intense, with loads of wood, caramel, and booze. Barrel'd to the extreme. This is very good.

Draft pour enjoyed at Brouwers Big Wood. Appearance is a bit thin, a near black pour, loose foam head that fades. Aroma is full of wood and toasty caramel. Taste is a dry oak, cocoa, caramel constant. Burnt roast linger. Some dark fruit hides in the background. Never really gets sweet, but a touch of maple. Whiskey late linger, a little dough. Pretty interesting. Enjoyed this.

Bottle from Market of Choice on Belmont in Portland, OR. Pours very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of blackberry, roasty dark malt(treacle) and a touch of anise. Chocolate too. Med + body. Light touch of heat (vanilla = bourbon?); blackberry; dark roasty malt; anise; touch of chocolate. Sort of complicated. Quite tasty. Evening sipper.

Sort of muddy light brown. The nose is roasted hazelnuts, minerally chocolate & cocoa, and a touch of alcohol. On the palate, cocoa, touch of alcohol, sweet malts, and a touch of molasses. All told, it is a bit muddled,

Bottle shared by Jack, thanks! Pours near black with a earthy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy dark grains and roasted malts with a bit of pine underlying. Flavor has dark grains and roasted malts with some pine and chocolate supporting.
