Produced by Shiga Kogen, Brouwerij de Molen and Hair of the Dog, this bottle is a blend of Hel & Verdoemenis, W-IBA and Fred. History and tradition are intertwined with creative though and passion, producing a beverage with depth and flavor.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L's place. Thanks Tom L. Black, tan foam. Chocolate, coconut, vanilla, caramel, bourbon, some fruitiness, sweet, bitter finish, alcohol note, full-bodied, rounded.

Borefts IX, Day 2. Keg. Light haze on this deep brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, fairly dry and with reasonable fine carbonation. Dry dark malts, some tang and roast. Bitterish dark chocolate. A little earthyness. Modest fruits - well buried. Dry finish brings mild chocolate. A bit dry.

Draught @ 9th. BBF 2017 [ 9th Borefts Beer Festival 2017 ] @ Brouwerij de Molen, Bodegraven, Netherlands. [ As Hair of the Dog / Shiga Kogen / De Molen Side by Side ].Clear dark brown colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, wood, light coffee and alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, wood, dark malt, chocolate - vanilla, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcohol. [20170922] 8-3-8-4-16

Dark brown colour, tan head. Aroma of cacao, red fruits, cassis, roasted malts, figs, caramel, hint of charcoal. Sweet malty flavour, caramel, quite some umami. Rather full body. Finish sweet malts, dark chocolate, sweet caramel, jam and mocha. Lovely stuff.

12oz bottle pours out dark brown topped with a tan head. Nose has lots going on reminds me of Adam but yet no Adam in this beer, hops tabacoo leather dark chocolate. Taste is more of the crazy layers of complexity very enjoyable. Happy to see it was properly carbonated.

At Borefts 2017. Aroma of raisin, caramel fudge and booze mostly. Taste has lots of booze, with caramel fudge, raisin, some smoke, vanilla and malt. Nice.
